She was a nurse at Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh.
She was pregnant and was about to have her second baby.
Her husband was working in Dubai and was going to come back for the birth.
His due date was in May.
She wanted to go to Ernakulam, Kerela where her family stayed.
The family would be helpful in taking care of the baby too.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the plans they had for the birth, changed to their entirety.
She decided to take her maternal leave from the last week of March due to the fright of the virus.
The gynecologist she went to, asked her to get a test for the virus just for safety purposes.
After 2 days when the results came, to her shock, it was positive.
She was 37 weeks pregnant at the time.
She was surprised since she had no symptoms.
The doctor reassured that asymptomatic cases are coming ahead often now.
She was very worried, not for herself but for the baby and the complications that might start after delivery.
She decided to get admitted in the COVID ward immediately so that she could start healing.
The next day after being admitted, she started having her labour pains and within 3 hours, her beautiful baby girl was born.
She was also tested for the coronavirus twice but thankfully, tested negative both the times.
She had to be away from her daughter for 15 days but she had friends who were nurses and they would show her pictures and videos of her.
She had a room to herself and would spend most of the time watching TV.
It was hard but they also did video calls and she was glad that her child was atleast safe.
She was finally discharged and was allowed to take her baby girl home and stayed with her in home quarantine.
She was 32 years old.
