Dreaded Fugitive Underworld Don Ravi Pujari Arrested by Senegal Police

Gangster Ravi Pujari is arrested in Senegal, A West African nation by Police with the help of INTERPOL on 22 January 2019.

He was nabbed in Dakar city by the sleuths of Interpol Central Bureau in a joint operation with the local Criminal Investigations Division.

 

It is also said that when arrested Ravi Pujari has a fake passport in the name of Anthony Fernandez, which was issued from India’s neighboring country Sri Lanka.

 

Security and intelligence agencies if India termed this arrest as Another Big Catch.

 

Bengaluru City Police issued a Red Corner Notice against him in few cases of extortion and murder including threats.

 

The action against the dreaded underworld don was taken after this international legal route.

 

Indian ambassador in Dakar confirmed his arrest to the Indian police officials and CBI, the nodal agency for INTERPOL on 26 January 2019.

 

Indian authorities confirmed his arrest and try his extradition from Senegal soon.

 

It is also said that Indian Police will brought Ravi Pujari to India on a special flight.

 

RP is under extradition detention at the Rebeuss Detention Center in Dakar.

 

Operating Restaurant in Senegal

RP is running an Indian restaurant ‘Namastae India’ in the capital city Dakar Senegal, West Africa.

 

Who is Ravi?

Ravi Pujari belongs to Padbidri village near Udupi in Mangalore.

 

Ravi Pujari, small time underworld don was on the run for 15 years.

 

Ravi Pujari aka RP worked under Mumbai Mafiosi Chota Rajan for many years.

 

He is a Mumbai-origin underworld and launched his own splinter gang two decades ago after 2000 Bangkok attack on Chota Rajan and his right hand man Rohit Verma aka Babbu aka Darmendra Pandey.

 

Non-bailable warrants by several courts of India were issued against Pujari over the last 25 years of his criminal history.

Crime Branch officials from Mumbai Police and his dossier says that Ravi Pujari is fluent in English and Kannada languages. He knows Hindi too.

 

Ravi’s wife Padma Pujari was arrested in Mumbai in 2014 after registration of an FIR against Pujari for threatening Gulzar Azmi, secretary, legal cell, Jamait-e-U

lema.

 

RP’s MOU

He used to call people with Australian cell number to make them believe that he hiding in Australia.

 

Crime Branch sources say that RP was shifting base very frequently and travelling to places like Ireland, Bangkok, Malaysia and Morocco etc.

 

Some sources also say that Ravi Pujari was hiding in West African country Burkina Faso for quite some time.

 

RP was operating his organise crime syndicate through the henchmen in Mumbai and nearby areas including some parts of Southern part of country.

 

Most of his shooters were arrested by the Mumbai Police in recent past.

 

It is believed that after pressure and actions from Mumbai Police forced to Ravi Pujari to shift his base to Bengaluru.

RP’s Mentor

He was close associate of Chota Rajan aka Nana aka CR aka Seth. Chota Rajan is under arrest after extradited from Indonesia in November 2015.

 

RP and CR worked together with Dawood Ibrahim’s gang D-Company till mid-1990s.

 

Mole Arrested

Mumbai Police arrested two of his henchmen under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act the month of January 2019. Name of the goons are William Rodricks and Aakash Shetty. They have been arrested after complaints of extortion registered by some people in Mumbai.

 

Cases Against Ravi

Dozens of extortions, threat to life, kidnapping, murder, blackmail, cheating and contract killing cases are registered in various parts of the country against Ravi Pujari.

 

JNU student Umar Khalid, student activist Shehla Rashid and Dalit leader & MLA from Gujarat Jignesh Mewani alleged that they received death threats from gangster Ravi Pujari and registered cases against him in the police.

 

Umar Khalid Alleged death threats from Ravi Pujari and filed complaint with Delhi Police. Umer Khalid is leader of the students’ agitation in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

 

RP also threatened to eliminate leader of Kashmiri separatist conglomerate Hurriyat, Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

 

Ravi Pujari also used to make extortion demands to Bollywood personalities including death threats for some funny reasons too.

 

Ravi Pujari was active in making extortion and death threats to various Bollywood personalities between 2009 and 2013.

 

Ravi Pujari made threat calls to senior lawyer Harish Salve in 2015. A FIR has been registered and probed by the special cell of Delhi Police.

 

Gujarat Police is also looking for Ravi Pujari for issuing threat calls to Surat, Ahmedabad, Baroda businessmen for extortion and threat calls.
