Little Dreams Turning Into Reality For Humanity : Corona Chronicle #033

Her mother looked at her and had never been more proud of her daughter.

Nur Afia is a Malaysian girl and has been sewing protective gears.

When she heard that the local hospital was looking for people to sew protective gears, she knew she had to volunteer.

She learnt how to sew when she was just 5 years old.

She used to look at her mother sewing for her home business.

She picked up and interest and asked her mother to teach her to sew.

She had started earning money by stitching pillowcases and even patching up torn clothes for her family members and neighbours.

She understood little about the coronavirus but she knew it was very dangerous.

She lives in Kuala Pilah,  a town in Malaysia’s southwestern Negeri Sembilan state.

She can make 4 PPE suits in one day between her play time and even attending online school.

Her school is closed due to the nationwide lockdown but she is doing something that is helping in saving lives.

Nur Afia has stitched 130 gowns for two hospitals close to her house in almost 1 and a half month.

She is working on sixty more pieces.

It is difficult for the girl to do the work as her family is Muslim and she also observes Ramadan, the fasting month.

In spite of the little slow down, she works with all her heart.

She was more motivated when she saw the pictures of medical corona warriors wearing the gowns she made.

The little girl is just 9 years old.

She attends online classes and even plays but her will to help people is a proud moment not only for her mother but everyone.

Little dreams turn into reality for humanity!
