Her parents were beyond happy when she was born.

Her father considered himself the luckiest man on Earth but fate held something very shocking and tragic for them.

The corona virus pandemic hit the country with full force and left millions of migrant workers unemployed.

Her father was a daily wager and her mother a domestic help.

Due to the lockdown they lost their jobs and there was no food to feed their baby let alone themselves.

They did whatever they could to survive for a few days and take care of their baby.

For a few days continuously, the neighbours did not see the baby and smelled something suspicious.

They straight went to the police station and informed the officials.

The police was suspicious that they must’ve done something really wrong with the child.

They started investigating and found a distant relative who was childless and the links started connecting.

With the help of an NGO, the police recovered the baby from her relatives.

The baby had to stay in the hospital for 3-4 days before being sent to a state-run home for children.

When the police went back to the house of her parents, they weren’t there.

It was clear that they ran away.

They sold their baby girl for Rupees 3,000.

Her mother’s name is Tapasi Dhara and her father’s name was Bapan.

She was just 2 and s half month old.
