Pune Gangland: Pune Police’s Successful Operation: Apprehending ‘Laden Gang’ and Seizing Illegal Firearms

In a significant operation, Pune Police have apprehended a notorious group known as the ‘Laden Gang,’ consisting of four individuals, on allegations of possessing illegal firearms.
The arrest, which took place on Friday, resulted in the seizure of 11 country-made pistols along with 31 live cartridges. The confiscated weaponry carries an estimated value of Rs 4.55 lakh.
Suspects’ Identities and Allegations
The suspects have been identified as Barkya, also known as Pramod Parse (19), Raju Jadhav (20), Ballusingh Shikligar (49), and Laden, alias Sohail Modin Asangi (22).
According to Pune Police, two of the pistols sold by these accused individuals were utilized in the Wanowrie and Velhe shooting incidents, raising concerns about their involvement in criminal activities.
Role of Laden in Firearm Transactions
The police have highlighted that Laden, one of the apprehended individuals, had sold a pistol to Sandip Dhumal, who was recently caught by Velha police station.
Pune Rural police intercepted Dhumal’s attempt to commit a crime using the pistol.
Additionally, Ballusingh, another suspect, was identified as the conduit for procuring firearms with the assistance of a relative residing on the border of Madhya Pradesh.
Two of the firearms acquired through this arrangement were employed in a shooting incident in Wanowrie.
Pune Police’s Tactical Approach: Nabbing Key Suspects
Acting on a valuable tip-off, the Swargate police station swiftly orchestrated a strategic operation.
On November 7, the team successfully arrested Pramod Parse near the Swargate depot.
Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of two pistols and four cartridges in his possession.
Further inquiries revealed that Parse and his accomplice, Raju Jadhav, had acquired a total of 13 pistols from Ballusingh, who operates as an illegal firearms dealer.
Four of these pistols were later sold to Laden, also an integral member of the gang.
The relentless efforts of Pune Police underscore their commitment to maintaining public safety and apprehending individuals involved in criminal enterprises.
